Who will be joining us for playgroup when the weather warms up? We can call it BUP (Beaufort Undergroud Playgroup... pronounced BOOP). Some undergrounders and myself started one at Lejeune about 3 years ago (LUP) and got together once a week. It was great for the kids and great for the moms, too. We can have playdates at the LB parks and/or even out in town so everyone has a chance to attend. Respond to this post if you would like to participate. Include a little info about yourself and your kids. (Please don't get too personal because this is a public site). 

I'm a SAHM to two girls, a 3 year old and a 1 year old. We are military so we're out in Laurel Bay. We've been here about 6 months and we really like Beaufort and surrounding area. 

We will be there in 3 months with a newborn. I know she won't be playing much but it would be nice to get together with other moms. We will be there for 2 years. 

I would love to participate. I have been here almost 2 1/2 years this time around. I am a stay at home mommy to a 3 year old boy with a lot of energy and is very friendly and wants to be friends with everyone, and a sometimes shy but very friendly and loving 19 month old girl. 

I also would like to participate, been here 2 years, have a 14 month old son, right now im busy with school, but im always looking to meet other mommies around, specially being military related. Look forward to meeting you ladies :) 

Count me in. SAHM with a 3 yr old and a 15 month old. Been here 2 and a half years, and would love the opportunity to get out and meet some people! 

Ok, ladies... next week it's suppose to be in the mid 60's. I think we should try to get together for our 1st BUP! Let me know what day would work best for you and your child(ren). Also what time. As of today, the 10 day forcast goes through next Wednesday, with Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday being 65. I'm good for any afternoon about 2p or 3p. 

Afternoons are best for me, too. Any day is fine.

Hey ladies I'm new to Beaufort we have been here sence November. I have a 3 year old little boy who will be 4 in May. We live on Laurel bay and i have seen its gonna be kinda hard for me to find friends around here. I would love to take ayden to one of these so he can make friends and i can meet some new people to. 

my kids also nap from about 1-3 or somewhere around there depending on how long it takes them to eat lunch and go potty and how much of a fight they put up

The park on the water is nice... I believe Birch runs along it. Do y'all have any other suggestions on other parks around LB? We're in the older brick houses in LB, so I don't know anything about Freedom Sound. Is there a park over there?

There are actually 2 play areas by the water. There is the one I think you are talking about that is by the dock and then there is another one down by the boat ramp. Both of these make me nervous because there is nothing to keep my sneaky little ones from taking off for the water. There is a nice large park in the center of Freedom Sound that has 3 play areas and a large pavilion with seating so it would be a great place for snacks or even a picnic lunch. 

UGH... we are headed out of town on Wednesday morning so I'm not able to get together tomorrow or Tuesday at 10am because I've got other plans. If y'all want to arrange something, I'm all for it. I'm sorry y'all! I was really looking forward to finally doing a BUP this week. I keep forgetting to drive by the park on Azalea to check it out. I'll drive through FS and check that one out, too, but I'll go with the majority on where to meet.
